DIY CNC Router Part 1 // Building a Small CNC Router

Hello friends, in this video series i'll be making a small benchtop CNC router for hobby works. You will find all the measurements and material names at the end of the part 2.

CNC Mill for under $100

In this video I'm going to show how I built a basic CNC mill. Most of the hardware was sourced from spare / leftover parts I had laying around from other projects and ended up costing me under $100. It has a working area of approximately 250mm x 250mm x 70mm and is capable of milling aluminum (though somewhat rough). The axes are moved with small NEMA17 stepper motors running at 24V, driven by A4988 drivers. The brain of the machine is an Arduino Uno running GRBL firmware, and G-code is sent to it via. USB from a laptop running Universal Gcode Sender - so everything is open source. I have a little bit of experience operating a CNC mill, but this is the first one i've built / owned. The biggest learning experience from this build was that everything needs to be tightened up and made as rigid as possible to get good results. Between leadscrew backlash and rails flexing, the spindle could easily be moved +/- 1mm or more, which causes tons of vibration, chattering, rough cutting, and loss of precision. In a future video I'll be upgrading the spindle and beefing up the structure to use 16mm rails instead of 8mm for better rigidity. I don't recommend trying to build this design yourself, because I created the printed brackets based on parts i had on hand, not what was "optimal". However, if you really want to, the STL's can be found here: 🤍 Music Used: Kevin MacLeod - George Street Shuffle Serge Pavkin - Atmospheric Ambient Kevin MacLeod - Groove Groove Eric Skiff - Underclocked Serge Pavkin - Fractal

This DIY CNC can cut wood and aluminum and it cost less than you might think

Is it possible to get into CNC woodworking without spending over $5,000? The answer is absolutely YES! Below are a couple of links to some options that I've used. Today's video focuses on the PrintNC. It has a working area of 23" x 33" and costs around $1,000. It still uses 3d printed parts, but not at critical junctions like the MPCNC. You can also upgrade the printed parts with aluminum to produce even more rigidity. MPCNC Information (old cnc): 🤍 PrintNC Information (new cnc): 🤍 I hope you enjoy this video. Website: 🤍 Plans: 🤍 Instagram: 🤍 Store: 🤍 T-Shirts: 🤍 Podcast: 🤍 I don't have a lathe in my shop and, on occasion, I've needed to create some round pieces. Homemade CNC Machine! (6 months of work in 8 minutes)

We designed and built our own DIY homemade industrial grade CNC milling machine to use for personal projects. This homebuilt machine is made from epoxy granite and has an 8 horse power spindle, servo motors all around, and an automatic tool changer. The machine weighs over 3000kg and works perfectly. All designs are my own and 100% original. We built this machine to help us produce better quality molds for our homemade plastic injection machine. Custom 3D Printed CNC - DIY Complete Build (Part I)

How to Build a Custom 3D Printed CNC - DIY Complete Build Outline: This video highlights how I built a custom 3D printed CNC machine for about $600. This router is computer numerically controlled via an Arduino Uno running GRBL and utilizes four Nema 23's, four TB6600's, a 500W spindle, and two power supplies. Also, the engineering project uses C-Beam aluminum profiles with v-wheels and 20+ 3D printed parts which make up the machine frame. Lastly, this DIY homemade CNC will be going through some improvements in the future which will be stabilization of the z-axis, adding a dust shoe, and possibly adding the limit switches. Therefore in the future a part 2 will come out regarding my CNC machine that has a cutting area of 3' x 3'. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment! DIY CNC Milling Machine - The Complete Build Video

DIY CNC Milling machine build. My objective for this project was to design and build a CNC milling machine without the need for any machining of the parts. Ordinarily, building a mill requires a much bigger mill to get the axis surfaces flat and parallel. By using aluminium tool plate (which is in theory pre-machined flat) and bolting the critical components rather than welding, it should be possible to avoid any machine work. After all, I'm building a mill because I don't have one! Linear rails and ball screws are the cheap Chinese 20mm style that you can find on eBay etc.

Sturdy DIY CNC Mill made from Fibre Concrete

Most hobby CNC machines are made from aluminum or even wood. Sturdy alternatives such as casted epoxy granite machines are expensive and require a reinforcement skeleton. Here I show an alternative, using concrete with fibreglass snips (fibre concrete) I built a sturdy machine that does not need an additional steel skeleton. It combines the advantages of casted machines (precise inlayed connections, resistance to vibrations) with a much lower price and ease of construction. Hope this video inspires your own CNC design! Thanks for watching. Keywords: Glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC), Self-consolidating concrete (SCC), Epoxy granite, Polymer concrete, Mineral casting
