Click Here to Subscribe: 🤍 It wasn’t that long ago that headlights were a no-thought-required feature. All cars had them and no one really paid them much heed unless they failed or were shaped in a particularly ugly manner. Halogen Reliably generating light with the limited resources at a car’s disposal was a problem for early automotive engineers. Tungsten filaments, similar to the kind found in household incandescent light bulbs, were finally settled on as the solution. From the mid-1960s until now these tungsten filaments have been encased in a bubble of halogen gas in order to improve performance and longevity. For much of their history, tungsten and halogen lamps focused light on the road via a lens that doubled as the headlight’s protective housing; now the two jobs are separate. High intensity discharge In high intensity discharge (HID) headlights, such as those used across the Lexus IS range, a mixture of rare metals and gases are heated to produce a bright white glow. HIDs are around two to three times brighter than halogen lamps and their glare can be particularly annoying for other road users. As such, the Australian Design Rules require cars equipped with HIDs to also have a self-levelling mechanism and a headlight washer. The former ensures that the headlights are always aimed towards the ground. The latter minimises the build up of dirt and grime, both of which can divert more light into the eyes of on-coming drivers. Despite their brighter output, HID lamps require less power to operate. They generally draw about 35 watts and are said to be good for around 2000 hours of use. LED Light emitting diodes (LEDs) have come a long way from the simple flashing lights on beige computer cases to being key components in modern cars, phones and televisions. Whether you realise it or not, they provide most of the lighting used in today’s instrument panels, entertainment head units and car interiors. As well, arrays of these diodes are employed in fog lamps, indicators and brake lights. Car designers love LEDs because their small size allows them to be fashioned into ever thinner and more distinctive shapes. Although LED headlights currently fall a little short of the brightness achieved by HIDs, they hit maximum brightness within a millionth of a second compared with the half second required by incandescent and halogen lights. Laser In the Audi R8 LMX, laser beam is used only as a supplement to the existing LED headlights, activating only when automatic high-beam is being used with the aim to double the range of light compared with LED high-beam – to a full 500 metres. So, how does it work? Where many light-emitting diodes (LED) are used within a regular headlight assembly, lasers work in a different fashion. In the R8 LMX there are only four laser diodes each with a diameter of 300 micrometres, or just 0.3 millimeters – talk about tiny! They are wrapped tightly in what Audi calls a “radiation-tight aluminium module.” Rather than pointing out towards the road like a normal beam, however, they instead are directed in a V-shape to a single point on a mirror, each strand of laser producing a wavelength of 450 nanometers. Denk bijvoorbeeld eens aan de lampen van een auto. Ook hier is een ruime keuze waaruit je kan kiezen. Waar tot niet heel lang geleden Halogeen de standaard keuze was heb je nu opties als Xenon, Led, Lazer en zelfs Oled. Maar wat zijn de verschillen eigenlijk? Halogeen is de meest voorkomende vorm van verlichting in een auto. De reden is simpel: het is goedkoop. Het heeft een redelijke lichtopbrengst met een kenmerkende warmere kleur. Helaas komt die lage prijs wel met een aantal nadelen in vergelijking met de andere opties. Zo verbruikt Halogeen verlichting vrij veel stroom omdat veel energie verloren gaat in warmte. Door deze warmte gaan ze ook nog eens minder lang mee, gemiddeld 1 jaar. Xenon lampen zijn een stuk meer efficiënt dan Halogeen omdat ze minder stroom verspillen. Zo verbruikt een Xenon lamp maar half de wattage van een Halogeen. Ook kan je door het gebruik van xenongas de kleur aanpassen waardoor deze vaak meer blauw of wit ogen. Xenon lampen gaan door hun efficiëntie 4 keer langer mee dan Halogeen, gemiddeld dus 4 jaar. Led en Oled (organic LED) is een stuk duurder dan Halogeen of Xenon en pas sinds kort beschikbaar op auto’s. Led heeft veel voordelen zoals zijn hoge lichtopbrengst en de mogelijkheid om vrijwel ongelimiteerd de kleur te kiezen. Het grootste voordeel aan Led of Oled is dat ze in principe nooit vervangen hoeven te worden. Ook kunnen individuele onderdelen van de lamp ingeschakeld worden waardoor bijvoorbeeld kleine animaties mogelijk zijn zoals bij het starten en uitschakelen van de auto. Lazer is de nieuwste vorm van verlichting en beschikbaar in maar een aantal modellen. Lazer is veel kleiner maar heeft toch een hogere lichtopbrengst met een lichtbundel van maximaal 500 meter. [ 🤍 ] Dakle, za naš test smo uzeli model automobila koji je serijski stigao s halogenim žaruljama. Godinama su nam baš te žarulje osvjetljavale puteve. Njihova glavna odlika je zasigurno povoljna cijena, dok u rubriku minusa ide njihova trajnost i činjenica da se teško mogu nositi s razinom svjetla koje donose žarulje novije generacije. Drugi dio testa pokazao nam je učinkovitost xenon žarulje. Premijerno su se predstavile još 1992. u autoindustriji. Na samom početku u luksuznim vozilima, da bi na kraju konačni uspjeh dugo dokazivale u prilično skupim doplatama. Kasnije su se pojavile u jeftinim izvedbama za naknadnu ugradnju, a takva im je i kvaliteta bila. Kvaliteta snopa uvelike ovisi o cijeni i proizvođaču, a to dokazuje i naš primjer koji je na regloskopu pokazao zavidnu svjetlinu i prolaznu kvalitetu snop. Za kraj našeg testa, ostavili smo LED žarulje. U ovom slučaju odabrali smo višestruko hvaljene Erfolg LED. Hladna boja je učinak svjetla najnovije tehnologije koja su postala standard u svijetu novih automobila, te definitivno ostavljaju najbolji efekt vidljivosti. S njome i bolje sigurnosti u prometu. Zato veseli što vaš standardni far može postati dio LED priče, naknadnom ugradnjom. Žarulje su standardne izvedbe, te se kao takve bez problema ugrađuju bez ikakvih preinaka. Pogledamo li učinak Erfolg LED žarulja na uređaju, možemo vidjeti potpuno identičan potpis kao u originalnom izdanju halogenih žarulja. Fala galera, blz? Sempre tive essa dúvida, e ai qual ilumina mais: Led ou Xênon? Ambos iluminaram muito bem, senti que o Xênon ilumina mais forte, porém mais perto, já o Led joga um pouco mais longe só que em uma menor intensidade. O ideal teria sido comparar com um carro mais baixo, pois o ângulo de um SUV é maior em relação ao Sedan, do farol em relação ao chão, mas de qualquer forma fica ai o comparativo, cada um com suas particularidades. Ovoga puta proveravamo da li ima smisla to što piše u zakonu da je zabranjeno fabričku sijalicu u faru automobila zameniti nekom drugog tipa. Zato smo na test stavili pojačane halogene sijalice, naknadno ugrađene LED sijalice i ksenone i to u realnim uslovima. Väčšina ľudí mení xenónové výbojky za LED náhrady presne pred ich koncom životnosti. To môže vyvolávať dojem, že LED náhrady svietia lepšie aj keď opak je pravdou💡 Budeme radi za každý komentár, lajk alebo zdieľanie. Veríme, že tento test pomôže niekomu v rozhodovaní🙂
Before you do any alteration to your vehicles lighting system, make sure it is legal for you to do so in your area. After installation make sure the lights are also aimed properly. About a year ago I did a similar video using reflector housings. At that time many of you commented that you didn't feel that was a good test because it was not conducted in projector housings. That was a great point. Now I'm back with what I feel is a better video conducting the same tests in projector housings. I hope you enjoy it. The wrong headlights used a problem thats all to common. Best Headlights LED or Halogen? test performed with a light meter to measure Lux and we check each headlight for the longest distance beam. with a side by side comparison to review the brightest Headlights on the road. Also showing color temperatures example 600k Kelvin which is white but close to blue. 3200k more of a yellow orange warm color. power needed, efficiency. very detailed procedures for you to make a informative decision if you should upgrade stock Headlights. price point not to mention advantages and disadvantages. we are using Led headlights sent to Nates interactive auto. That said, I did feel like I got some surprising results from my testing as you'll see in the video. All tests were done using a 2004 Honda Element with Halogen headlight housings. The distances were constant as we kept the vehicle in the same spot for all testing with the engine running. Also, I did not aim or alter the headlights in any way. I only installed the different bulbs for each test.
